"The Bay District Schools Maintenance Department is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the facilities owned by the Bay District School System in a cost efficient manner. The department will be responsible for preventive maintenance and reactive repair of facilities, but it will not endeavor to renovate existing structures or construct new facilities."
The Maintenance Department has 76 employees, divided into specialized shops. The largest is the Specialty Shop which is responsible for all work control, supplies, warehousing and inventory, equipment and automotive repairs, structural painting, lock and key, brick/block mason, welding repairs, and retention pond cutting. Our Carpentry Shop performs all the structural maintenance on district facilities. The Electrical; Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC); and Plumbing Shops provide the necessary expertise to repair and maintain components of our school facilities. The stadium crews for Tommy Oliver, Mike Gavlak, and Deane Bozeman are also included in the Maintenance Department.
