Buster the Safety Bus

Who or What is Buster the School Bus?
Buster the Bus is a miniature, remote controlled
three-foot-tall cartoonish replica of a full-size yellow
school bus, which is equipped with working stop
sign, crossing gate, flashing yellow and red lights.
It is just like a real bus! This bus has unique features,
which includes an almost musically friendly voice that
enchants children while he provides concrete lessons
about bus safety. Children also enjoy seeing the
animated little bus, blink flashing lights, swing-out stop
sign and move and blink his eyes. In addition,
Buster has windshields and a mouth for a front grill.
Besides having adorable features, he talks to students
about a very important message of school bus safety
to children. Children love Buster the Bus! Buster is
the great symbol for the school bus safety program.
He is the ideal size for teaching children. He can
communicate with them at their eye level, and when
he moves the children are not fearful of him. In
addition, Buster is agile enough to maneuver easily in
school classrooms and other restricted areas.
What does Buster do?
Among many important bus safety lessons, the
program includes messages about:
• How to cross the road safely
• Staying out of the “Danger Zone”
• Riding the school bus safely
• How to safely wait for the school bus
• How to cross in front of the school bus
• How to climb the steps
• How to ride the school bus to and from school
• How to evacuate the school bus

Deborah,
I thought the presentation was wonderful. The students were so amazed by Buster
and "his friend" that they talked about it for days. I even heard them whispering to
each other on the bus, reminding each other to follow Buster's rules.
The presentation lasted the perfect amount of time...time to cover all the safety rules,
but not so long that the students got tired of sitting.
Thank you for coming! I wish I had known about Buster at the beginning
of the year! Feel free to forward this as you feel.

The children loved Buster and was avidly looking for Buster's mom the next day for
our field trip. The thing these Kindergartners liked most was hugging Buster. I ask them
what they remembered about your presentation. They remembered the 10' feet buffer around
the bus and to be quiet at RR crossings. This came in handy for our field trip. This was a
wonderful experience for them.
Thanks,
