Bay District Schools is proud to announce that Brooke Loyed, principal of Patronis Elementary School, has been named a Top 3 Finalist for Florida Principal of the Year by the Florida Department of Education. Selected from school leaders across all 67 counties, this prestigious recognition places Loyed among the very best in the state and highlights the exceptional leadership happening right here in Bay County.

Loyed’s leadership at Patronis Elementary is defined by a strong commitment to student success, a positive and supportive school culture, and high expectations for both students and staff. Under her guidance, Patronis has become a place where students are known, encouraged, and challenged to achieve their best, while educators are empowered to grow and lead.

“Brooke is the kind of leader who makes a lasting impact,” said Superintendent Mark McQueen. “She builds relationships, sets the bar high, and creates an environment where both students and staff can thrive. We are incredibly proud to see her recognized at the state level.”

This honor reflects not only Loyed’s dedication, but also the collective effort of the Patronis Elementary team and the strong support of the school community. Bay District Schools celebrates this achievement as a shining example of what it means to put the “A” back in Bay—focusing on academics, accountability, and a commitment to excellence in every classroom.

As a Top 3 finalist, Loyed now represents Bay District Schools on the state stage, and the entire district is cheering her on.
