The future of Deane Bozeman School just got a little bigger thanks to the generosity of Tommy and Barbara Loftin.

During Tuesday's Bay District School Board meeting, the School Board formally accepted the donation of approximately 3.2 acres of property adjacent to Deane Bozeman School along Highway 77. The gift expands the school's campus and creates exciting opportunities for students today while providing room for future growth for generations to come.

District leaders say the property's immediate impact will be felt through expanded hands-on learning opportunities for students in Deane Bozeman's agriculture and outdoor education programs. The land, which includes a pond, offers an ideal setting for environmental education, agricultural experiences, and outdoor learning. Looking ahead, the additional acreage could also provide space for future enhancements to the school's nationally recognized FFA program, including the potential construction of a barn and arena.

For Superintendent Mark McQueen, the significance of the gift extends well beyond the property's current possibilities.

"Tommy and Barbara have been incredible friends to Bay District Schools for many years, and this generous donation is another example of their unwavering commitment to our students and our community," McQueen said.
